Refurbished and Ex-Demo Computer Equipment

AccData occasionally recycles refurbished or ex-demo computers which may be in the form of a complete PC system or, more usually, will come as a tower or desktop CPU only.  The most common request is for refurbished laptops but, unfortunately, we do not handle very many...

We only refurbish equipment of known provenance with legal software licences.  Usually the items come from our own use or from customers who are trading up.

These systems are fully refurbished not just wiped over with a damp cloth!  That is to say they are opened up and cleaned inside, the main components are stress tested, the hard drives are security wiped to military specifications so ALL evidence of previous ownership is removed, the operating system and all necessary drivers are reinstalled, any available useful legal application software is reinstalled, and the operating system is fully security-patched up to date.  Sometimes the systems will also be upgraded in the process using other available salvaged components.  All refurbished desktop systems include a 56Kbs dial-up modem and/or an internal PCI DSL modem capable of running UK standard 'broadband' ADSL and ADSL Max protocols up to 8Mbs, and a 10/100 LAN network card so they are 'internet ready' and 'network ready'.

The minimum specification for refurbishing is currently a 1.8MHz processor in an ATX or mATX form-factor case.  The minimum operating system is Microsoft Windows XP with SP3.  Other than the fact that the parts are second-hand, therefore subject to normal 'wear and tear', these refurbished units are completed to the same high standard as our new OEM PCs and come with 3 months hardware warranty.

We sometimes have available refurbished or ex-demo monitors, printers, and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).  Details of anything we do have will be posted below.

Please note that refurbished units are ONLY available for collection or for local delivery.

Sorry - no units are available at the present time...
