VAT Increase to 20% on 04 January, 2011

The good news is that AccData is not VAT registered therefore there will not be an increase in prices across the board.

The bad news is that most of the bought-in stock and parts do carry VAT and they will be subject to a proportionate increase to cover the increased purchasing cost. Most of my standing and variable overheads also carry VAT and I have already absorbed several increases in overhead costs such as petrol, other motoring costs, phone and internet charges, energy costs, postage, and so on. It is therefore now very likely that some of the VAT and basic price increases will have to be passed on in some way. The most likely area to increase will probably be the cost of call-outs which have been marginally economic for some time.
